Personal Information Protection Policy
SMART COM. Laboratories Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) shall set forth the personal information protection policy as follows, construct a mechanism for the personal information protection and shall promote the personal information protection by familiarizing all employees to recognize the importance of the personal information protection and to implement it.
(Article 1) Acquisition of Personal Information
The Company shall handle the personal information acquired from the customers through the use of the services and such provided by the Company in a legal and fair manner. The term personal information mentioned here includes information on a living individual, as set forth in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and information which can identify the specific individual by referring to other information with such information.
(Article 2) Management of Personal Information
The Company shall maintain the information of the customers in an accurate and up-to-date manner, take necessary measures, such as maintaining the security system, establishing the control system and educating the employees thoroughly, for preventing unauthorized access, loss, damage, alteration, leak and such to the personal information, and shall implement safety measures to manage the personal information in a strict manner.
(Article 3) Purpose of Use of Personal Information
The personal information provided by the customers shall be used for contacting the customers, providing business announcements from the Company and replying to their questions via sending e-mail and materials.
(Article 4) Prohibition of Disclosure / Provision of Personal Information to Third Party
The Company shall maintain the personal information provided from the customers appropriately, and shall not disclose such to the third party except for the following cases:
- in an event where there is an approval of the customer,
- in an event where the Company discloses such to the outsourcing company for conducting services desired by the customers, and
- in an event where disclosing such is based on the laws.
(Article 5) Safety Measures for the Protection of Personal Information
The Company is taking all safety security measures for ensuring the accuracy and safety of the personal information.
(Article 6) Inquiry of Person
In an event where the customer desires to inquire, correct, delete his / her personal information or such, we will respond upon verifying his / her identity.
(Article 7) Compliance of Laws and Regulations, and Review of Policy
The Company shall comply with the Japanese laws and other regulations, which shall apply on the personal information provided to us, review the details of the policy from time to time and shall strive to improve such.
